VILLERS’s health and food safety have never been questioned by regulatory authorities. VILLERS complies with current legal thresholds and contains no PFAS. The nanotraces of TFA (trifluoroacetic acid) are well below the current guideline values set for human health by various European Union authorities, even with a high daily consumption of 2 liters. As no proven health impact has been established by the WHO, no legal limit has yet been set by the European Union for TFA in tap water or bottled water. The TFA nanotraces detected are the result of environmental factors and are not related to the bottling process. VILLERS supports the European bottled water industry’s call for a gradual phase-out of substances that generate TFA in order to protect water resources.
